πρὶν δὲ ὑπὸ Περσῶν ἀφανισθῆναι, φησὶ Βάτων, ὅτι μυρίας τρισχιλίας κώμας εἶχε καὶ τριάκοντα, ἀνθρώπων δὲ μυριάδας ἑπτακοσίας, ἀρουρῶν δὲ τόπον μεμετρημένον τρισχιλίων καὶ ἑπτακοσίων, ἑκατὸν δὲ πύλας διακεκοσμημένας, τετρακόσια στάδια τὸ μῆκος.
