Πρόκλος τοίνυν ἦν μὲν τῶν οὐκ ἀφανῶν κατ᾿ Αἴγυπτον, στασιάζουσαν δὲ ἰδὼν τὴν Ναύκρατιν καὶ παρὰ τὰ ἤθη πολιτεύοντας τὴν Ἀθήνῃσιν ἡσυχίαν ἠσπάσατο καὶ ὑπεκπλεύσας ἐκεῖ ἔζη πολλὰ μὲν ἀγαγὼν χρήματα, πολλοὺς δὲ οἰκέτας καὶ τὴν ἄλλην κατασκευὴν μεγαλοπρεπῶς κεκοσμημένην.
