οἱ δὲ τοσαύτην ἄρα τὴν ἐγρήγορσιν παρέσχοντο, ὥστ᾽ ἔφθησαν ἡμᾶς ἀνιστάντες, πρὶν ἐξελθεῖν τὸν ἐροῦντα πρὸς αὐτοὺς ἃ πεπόνθαμεν. ὀργάνοις δὲ θειοτάτοις ἅμα καὶ λαμπροτάτοις ἐχρήσαντο, λόγοις μὲν παραμυθησάμενοι καὶ δείξαντες, ὅ ποτε Ἡσίοδος ἐμαντεύσατο, ὅσον τι χρῆμα ἡ μουσικὴ τῇ βασιλικῇ προσγενομένη χορηγίαν δὲ πᾶσαν παρασχόμενοι πρός τε τὴν τῶν συμβεβηκότων θεραπείαν καὶ προσέτι ἑτέρων κόσμων περιβολήν.
