καὶ δὴ πέπεμπται, κόμπον ἐν χεροῖν ἔχων,Μεγαρεύς, Κρέοντος σπέρμα τοῦ σπαρτῶν γένους,ὃς οὔ τι μάργων ἱππικῶν φρυαγμάτωνβρόμον φοβηθεὶς ἐκ πυλῶν χωρήσεται,ἀλλ᾿ ἢ θανὼν τροφεῖα πληρώσει χθονὶἢ καὶ δύ᾿ ἄνδρε καὶ πόλισμ᾿ ἐπ᾿ ἀσπίδοςἑλὼν λαφύροις δῶμα κοσμήσει πατρός.
